Why Umar?
My Pen-name is Umm 'Umar (mother of 'Umar). And there is a specific reason why I opted for the name Umar.
'Umar here means second righteous Caliph of Muslim history, Chief of the Believers (Ameerul Mumineen) 'Umar (Faarookh) Ibnul al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him).
His life has greatly inspired me. I think we have many things common in us. The very particular incidence of his life which deeply affected my thoughts and helped me to establish my 'Personal Mission Statement' is as here:
It is narrated in the Hadeeth that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: <<
'Umar said to him,
His firmness in decision-making, courage, kindness, and god-fearing personality has always inspired me.

"No one of you truly believes until I am more beloved to him than his father, his son and all the people"(Bukhari, hadith no 15).
'Umar said to him,
"By Allah, O' Messenger of Allah you are more beloved to me than everyone except myself."He (pbuh) said:
"No, O' 'Umar, not untill I am more beloved to you than your own self."He ('Umar) said,
"You are more beloved to me than my own self."He (pbuh) said,
"Now (you got it right), O' 'Umar"(Bukhari, Hadith no 6632)
His firmness in decision-making, courage, kindness, and god-fearing personality has always inspired me.
If Allah will bless me with a son, I will name him 'Umar (inshaAllah).
Umm Umar,
